As the summer heat intensifies in Shanghai in July, cool breezes from the Dabie Mountains bring a touch of freshness. On July 2, the “Summer Refreshment” themed promotion event of the 2026 Shanghai–Lu'an Cultural Tourism Carnival was held in Shanghai. As one of the organizers, Jinzhai County showcased its rich revolutionary heritage, ecological wellness resources, and distinctive local products, promoting the “Heart-Nourishing Jinzhai” summer retreat tourism brand and actively expanding its market among visitors from the Yangtze River Delta region.

Under the theme “Joyful Dabie Mountains, Escape the Summer Heat in Lu'an,” the event featured three themed sections. Jinzhai students and Shanghai students jointly recited the original poem “Hello, Lu'an! Hello, Shanghai!”, connecting the revolutionary heritage of the two regions through the voices of youth. The immersive situational performance “Treasures of Lu'an · Heart-Nourishing Jinzhai” vividly showcased the unique charm of the “Beautiful Anhui Treasure Town.” Summer tourism products featuring water-based activities, such as sightseeing in Tiantangzhai and canyon rafting, were included in Lu'an's summer getaway routes and became highlights of the promotion.

Breaking away from traditional promotion formats, the event established a model featuring “one major showcase plus three targeted matchmaking sessions.” Jinzhai participated in the main event and all three supporting matchmaking sessions, engaging with state-owned enterprise unions, key travel agencies, and leading cultural tourism enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta. The event promoted practical cooperation in areas such as wellness and recuperation tourism, joint development of tourism products, and industrial investment. The Xiyugu Agricultural, Cultural, and Tourism Integration Demonstration Park project in Banzhuyuan Town, Jinzhai County, was signed on site.

The event also launched summer benefit packages for visitors. Core attractions such as Tiantangzhai joined the summer discount program, while Jinzhai's cultural and creative products, Xianhui handmade noodles, and Xianzhiling Ganoderma spore products were showcased at the intangible cultural heritage market, allowing Shanghai residents to experience authentic Dabie Mountain specialties without leaving the city.

Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province and the Lu'an Municipal People's Government, and hosted by the Lu'an Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Jinzhai County People's Government, the event represents an important initiative to implement the Yangtze River Delta integrated development strategy, deepen Shanghai–Lu'an cooperation, and promote coordinated regional cultural tourism development.
