Recently, the 5th Tea Country Tourism Development Conference was held in Hangzhou, where 100 premium “Tea Country: Scenic Beauty in All Seasons” routes were officially released nationwide.

Three routes from our city were successfully selected: the “Shucha People’s Commune Tea Tourism Golden Route” in Shucha Town, Shucheng County; the “Exploring the Main Peak, Tracing the Origins of Tea” route in Huoshan County; and the “Jiudaochong Intangible Cultural Heritage Route” in Yu’an District. Their inclusion highlights the strong vitality and distinctive features of our city’s integrated development of tea culture and tourism.

This selection was organized by the Tea Industry Committee of the China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation. It solicited entries from nearly 20 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country.

The selected routes cover a wide range of themes, including tea-country landscapes, intangible cultural heritage techniques, tea culture, and red-themed tea tourism. The initiative aims to promote tourism through tea and, in turn, boost the tea industry through tourism, driving the high-quality development of tea-region tourism and supporting comprehensive rural revitalization.

In recent years, our city has leveraged its abundant tea resources and strong ecological and cultural advantages, taking the tea industry as a core driver to promote the deep integration of ecological resources, intangible cultural heritage, and tourism. It has continuously fostered new formats and models such as “tea tourism + homestays” and “tea tourism + study tours,” exploring a coordinated development path for tea, culture, and tourism with distinct characteristics of Lu’an.

The simultaneous inclusion of these three routes in the national list of premium routes not only further enhances the brand of Lu’an’s tea culture and tourism, but also effectively expands the development space of the tea industry, increases the income of tea farmers, and injects new momentum into rural revitalization.
