To effectively respond to the evolving demands of urban road traffic, in recent years public security authorities across the city have consistently adhered to a people-centered approach, tackling congestion with refined measures, eliminating risks with precision, and delivering services with care. These efforts have fully advanced the modernization of urban road traffic governance, leading to continuous improvements in residents’ sense of safety and satisfaction when traveling.

In advancing congestion management to ensure smoother traffic flow, public security authorities in the city have actively explored the application of artificial intelligence and integrated computing technologies in areas such as traffic signal control. Measures including adaptive signal control and the development of coordinated “green wave” corridors have been piloted, effectively improving the efficiency of the urban road network. At present, the city has established an “eight east–west and eight north–south” green wave network, with 34 coordinated corridors totaling 159 kilometers.

At the same time, six physical reversible lanes and 48 tidal-flow lanes have been introduced, with this series of measures boosting urban road traffic efficiency by more than 26 percent. In addition, drones are being used for remote assistance in addressing traffic violations such as excessively slow driving, while 32 congestion-prone intersections and road sections have undergone refined improvement works. Among them, the intersection of Jiefang Road and Foziling Road in the urban area has achieved particularly notable results and has been recognized by the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security as a model intersection, with its practices promoted nationwide for learning and replication.

Focusing on targeted risk elimination to safeguard public safety, public security authorities across the city have continuously carried out initiatives to prevent road traffic accidents by reducing overall incidents while controlling major accidents. Several high-risk intersections and road sections have been placed under special rectification programs. A high-pressure enforcement approach has been maintained against prominent violations such as drunk driving and illegal street racing, contributing to a steady improvement in overall road traffic safety.

In terms of delivering attentive and convenient services, the city has launched initiatives to improve parking access for residents and businesses, adding and optimizing nearly 12,000 parking spaces. Services related to driver licensing and vehicle administration—such as license renewal—are now handled through proactive processing, reminder-based services, and direct handling, benefiting 113,200 service interactions. Meanwhile, the city has vigorously promoted “one-stop efficient handling” for high-frequency services including vehicle registration, deregistration, and mortgage release. A total of 46 such services that are not restricted by location have been fully integrated into comprehensive public security service counters, making administrative procedures more convenient and hassle-free for both residents and enterprises.
