On July 3, at the construction site of the Hefei-Wuhan High-Speed Railway's Lu'an Pi River Grand Bridge (Jinyu Pi River Grand Bridge) in Chengbei Town, Jin'an District, workers were welding steel pipes on the already joined construction trestle bridge. They were preparing to transport materials and large equipment for the next phase of main bridge pile foundation construction in the river channel.

It is understood that the newly built Hefei-Wuhan High-Speed Railway project is an important part of the main framework of the national high-speed railway network, known as the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" corridors along the Yangtze River. In January of this year, the Hefei to Wuhan High-Speed Railway (Anhui section) officially commenced construction in Lu'an. The Hefei to Wuhan section is one of the seven projects along the Yangtze River high-speed railway, located within Anhui and Hubei provinces. It is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, with a total length of 330.1 kilometers and a construction period of 4.5 years. The line starts from Hefei South Station in the east, passes through Lu'an North, Jinzhai East, Nanxi, Macheng North, Hong'an, Changjiang New District, and ends at Wuhan Tianhe Station, with a bridge-tunnel ratio as high as 88.6%. Once completed, the travel time between Wuhan and Hefei is expected to be shortened to about one hour.

The Anhui section of the project's HWZQ-2 bid section is located in Lu'an City, crossing Jin'an District, Yu'an District, and Yeji District, with a total length of about 39.024 kilometers. The main work involves the Hefei-Wuhan main line (double-track) bridges and roadbed projects, including five bridges and four sections of roadbed.
