Rebar binding, panel installation... On May 20, more than 40 workers were busy in an orderly manner at the construction site of the Xianhua Lake Grand Bridge.

The Xianhua Lake Grand Bridge is one of the key components of the G4222 Hexian to Xiangyang Expressway project from Shucheng (Qianrenqiao) to Jinzhai (Anhui-Henan border), referred to as the "Hexian-Xiangyang Expressway Lu'an section." The main pier construction of the bridge is currently underway.

The Lu'an section of the Hexian-Xiangyang Expressway is a critical part of the national combined three-dimensional transportation network and Anhui Province's "Five Vertical and Ten Horizontal" expressway network. It serves as a significant corridor connecting the Yangtze River Delta with the central and western regions, traversing the central area of Anhui Province. The entire project spans 170.5 km with an estimated total investment of 24.019 billion yuan. Over 500 primary construction points have commenced. The project began on December 15, 2022, and is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2025.

This project is the longest and most heavily invested single project in the city's history and the first expressway independently constructed by our city. Its completion will further enhance our comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, seamlessly connect with the Yangtze River Delta, integrate into the Hefei and Wuhan metropolitan areas, and strengthen economic and cultural exchanges between provinces and cities. This project is a milestone in advancing our city's green revitalization and development strategy.
