The construction area increased from 20km² at the beginning of the city to 50km² now; and the population increased from 200,000 to 400,000 plus. With a high jumping point of city planning, the city functional sub-area is reasonable. Thanks to its unblocked  roadways, complete function, beautiful/dainty environment. In 2006, the Ministry of Construction granted Lu'an the Chinese living environment award.(water environment treatment super model city)
